FHIR in Ireland

Hearing “FHIR” and “Ireland” in the same sentence is rare.

Ireland has been lagging behind the rest of Europe when it comes to FHIR adoption for a long time.

That’s set to change.

Grahame Grieve – one of the founders of FHIR and the HL7 FHIR Product Director – is set to visit Dublin on Monday, October 20th.

The objective of Grahame’s visit is to raise awareness of FHIR in Ireland and to kickstart some much needed FHIR momentum, both within the public health service and in private enterprise.

There’ll be some closed door meetings followed by a public event in Dublin on the Monday evening that Grahame will headline.

As part of the evening event I’ll be giving a talk titled:

Navigating the FHIR Landscape: Commercial Vendors and Open Source Tools.

Speakers include Professor Martin Curley and Maxine Radcliffe from Maynooth University, and Associate Professor John Kildea from McGill University in Montreal.

Grahame’s visit couldn’t come at a better time.

It’s a small event with very few seats remaining. If you’re in Dublin on Monday the 20th you can reserve a seat here.

Hope to see you there.
